In 2021, while making plans to launch my very own podcast, I had the wonderful opportunity to interview my great friend and brother, Essex O'Brien.
Essex began his professional career in voice acting and performing as a seasonal actor at the Walt Disney World Resort. Since those early days, Essex has continued to develop his craft and is a well-respected professional having appeared in numerous films, stage plays, and TV series. He also boasts a strong portfolio of commercials for Universal Parks & Resorts, NutriSystem, and Publix. Essex can currently be seen on TV on HBOmax in season 2 of David Makes Man and in The Oath on Sony Crackle. He has several projects on the film festival circuits including award winning Simulacrum, Inheritance and his directorial debut Black Unicorn.
Outside of acting, Essex is passionate about reading, creating new content for podcasts and basketball. He also coaches other actors and provides audition taping. He’s married to his wife of 15 years, Joni, and has one son, Essex II.
